The DAS Team deploys automation software to complete wireless testing for DAS
SANTA CLARA, CA – Mortenson | McCarthy (a joint venture) utilized ECSite software solutions to automate Line Sweep, PIM, fiber testing and close-out photos for a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) at Allegiant Stadium, the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders and a state-of-the-art facility that holds up to 72,000 spectators.
“Picture tens of thousands of viewers streaming, surfing the internet, calling or texting,” commented Subbu Meiyappan, Founder and CEO of ECSite, Inc. “A properly constructed and thoroughly tested DAS allows for an enjoyable wireless experience to ensure video highlights, social media, calls/texting, and Point of Sale concessions that are quick and efficient.”
ECSite offers a mobile app and cloud service to manage test data collection, capture and organize photos and installation, complete checklists, and verify various phases of site construction and maintenance.
Allegiant Stadium has over 20 miles of RF coax, 3,000 miles of fiber and several thousand components that needed to be RF tested. Through automation, ECSite created a customized workflow application (mobile and cloud apps) specifically for Allegiant Stadium to control test instruments for accurate and efficient data collection with real-time visibility, combined with analytics on the ECSite cloud.
“We are excited to integrate massive automation at scale into the deployment process and work alongside Mortenson to provide its software and services for this iconic venue—a first for Las Vegas,” Meiyappan continued. “Mortenson is a leader in building large venues and stadiums. With world-class leadership comes world-class standards and quality. They have thorough processes to ensure a successful deployment.”
ECSite helped Mortensen stay on time and under budget for their testing phase.
“The partnership with ECSite and the joint venture enabled fast, efficient testing and troubleshooting of the vast number of cables and devices in this stadium. The ECSite software gave us daily updates to verify we were on schedule. We look forward to our continued partnership with ECSite in Mortenson’s DAS projects,” shared Jason Jennings, Mortenson General Manager, Digital Integration.
